New issue Vienna Meeting Fund 2022-2024 as of 1 July 2022

City Councillor Peter Hanke has announced a new edition of this successful funding scheme, endowed with four million euros, with which the City of Vienna is supporting not only Vienna's conference industry but also Vienna's tourism industry as a whole with targeted measures in challenging times. From July 1, 2022 until the funds are exhausted, at the latest until December 2024, the Vienna Meeting Fund 2022-2024 can be applied for.

The fund is a broad-based restart program to include hybrid meetings in its own funding module and is aimed not only at national but also international organizers. The funding is deliberately open to large, Vienna-based international companies and organizations in the spirit of strengthening Vienna as a headquarters and business location. Also in its new edition 2022-2024, the Vienna Meeting Fund of the City of Vienna will be handled by the Vienna Convention Bureau at the Vienna Tourist Board and can be applied for meetings taking place in Vienna until December 31, 2024.

The amount of funding is tied to certain criteria, including the number of participants in the event and the number of overnights spent by participants in Viennese hotels. The maximum amount of funding per event is 60,000 euros. The later the congress or corporate event takes place, the stricter the criteria become. In 2024, for example, at least 5,000 people must attend the event and at least half of the participant overnight stays must come from abroad if the maximum funding amount is to be reached.
